(posted 10.06.11)
Matthew Flinders Anglican College has once again achieved outstanding academic results in the 2010 Year 12 Outcomes Report and has been acknowledged as among the top 10 schools in Queensland in both percentages of students achieving OP 1-5 and also OP 1-15.
The Sunshine Coast Daily acknowledged Flinders as the leading school on the Coast in terms of OP measures. The Courier Mail report, considering only schools with more than 50 OP-eligible students, placed Flinders 8th in Queensland in terms of OP 1-5 as a percentage of OP eligible students (38%) and equal 9th in terms of the percentage of OP-eligible students achieving OP1-15 (93%).
A further analysis of the data (see table) reveals that Flinders ranks 6th in Queensland in terms of OP 1-5 as a percentage of the total Year 12 cohort and 3rd in Queensland in terms of OP 1-15 as a percentage of the total cohort - an outstanding result!
Principal, Mr Anthony Vincent, said that as a community Flinders had every reason to be proud – proud of our students, and proud of our staff.
