Hard work pays off with 10 OP1s for Flinders students
One in four graduates achieve OP 1-3

Matthew Flinders Anglican College is celebrating after 10 students from the Class of 2010 achieved an OP 1 and another 12 students achieved an OP 2.
Another nine students achieved an OP 3 which equates to one in four students (25.2%) from the graduating Year 12 class achieving an OP 1-3.
Medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, law, engineering, architecture, business and journalism are just some of the career paths open to the students, who will now await the release of tertiary offers in January.
In 2010, 39.0% of OP-eligible Flinders students achieved an OP 1-5; 54.5% an OP 1-7; 72.4% an OP 1-10 and 92.7% an OP1-15.
A total of 70% of students achieved an A or B in the QCS Test compared to 43.5% state-wide (38.3% of Flinders students achieved an A/ 15.6% state-wide; 31.7% achieved a B/ 27.9% state-wide).
Matthew Flinders Anglican College’s consistent results place it as one of the top achieving schools on the Sunshine Coast and in Queensland.
This is the fourth time in eight years that the Flinders’ graduating class has achieved 10 or more OP1s. The graduating class of 2005 saw an impressive 11 students achieve an OP1, and in both 2003 and 2007, 10 students also achieved an OP1. In 2008, nine students achieved an OP1.
In 2010, 733 students across Queensland received an OP1, an increase of 17 from 2009.
