Our Tessa pipped by Aussie record holder Leisel Jones

Pelican Waters swimmer Tessa Wallace is hot on the heels of Australian breaststroke record holder Leisel Jones.
At the Queensland State Championships held at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre from December 13-15, Wallace came in second and third behind Jones in the 200m and 100m finals respectively.
In the 200m, Jones (2:23.04) had to muster all her experience to fight off the fast finishing 16-year-old Wallace (2:26.03), and third placegetter Sarah Katsoulis.
Jones also took the 100m breaststroke crown in a world class time of 1:06.01 with Katsoulis (1:08.24) taking second and Wallace (1:08.79) settling for third place.
It was the same story at the Paris Open Championships in June this year when Wallace came in second behind the Olympic gold medalist in both the 100 and 200m breaststroke events.
Brisbane played host to 2000-plus open and age group swimmers at the Queensland State Championships.
The young swimmers honed their skills ahead of the much anticipated Telstra Australian Swimming Championships and Commonwealth Games Trials in Sydney in March.
The State Championships were also the last Australian meet before the full polyurethane suits are banned, which takes effect from January 1, 2010.
Tessa heads into Year 12 at Matthew Flinders Anglican College in 2010.
