Flinders Cricket Club

Thank you for taking an interest in the Flinders Cricket Club.

We are very proud of the heritage of Flinders Cricket. We invite you and your family to join in with over 60 families who currently enjoy playing and supporting junior cricket in an atmosphere of fair play, excellence and great facilities.

 FCC’s new Bola Bowling Machine

The Flinders Cricket Club (FCC) is a “Flinders Activity Club” under the constitution of the Matthew Flinders Anglican College Parents and Friends’ Association Inc. Although managed by parents and friends, the College provides support in many areas, including grounds (and their upkeep), practice facilities and some aspects of administration.

As an official cricket club, we have access to quality competition through the Sunshine Coast Junior Cricket Association (SCJCA). The SCJCA competition covers a number of age groups, including Under 10s, Under 11s, Under 13s, Under 15s and Under 17s. The FCC enters as many teams at all levels as player numbers and availability of coaches dictate.

Currently the FCC has a number of players and families from other schools.

Representative Opportunities

There are opportunities for motivated players to attend trials for the various representative teams. The club has always been successful in providing players for SCJCA rep teams.

Facilities

As stated, the FCC is based at Flinders. Facilities include:
  • Internationally recognised coaching from Danny Morrison
  • Indoor training facilities
  • Turf Wicket, multiple cricket nets and other grounds
  • Under 10s games under lights on Friday nights
  • New Bola bowling machine

Fees and the Junior Cricket Season

The 2010/11 player fees are $195 for Under 10s and $245 for Under 11s, 13s, 15s and 17s. This fee includes a player shirt. The season usually runs from early October to early March with one month off over the Christmas holiday period.

What role can I play in the FCC?

As a volunteer group, we always welcome any help. The FCC meets monthly and the  club provides training for coaches, scorers and help to any person who steps forward for a role in the club.
