Competitions

The Flinders Netball teams play in the Sunshine Coast Secondary Schools’ Netball Competition (SCSSNC) on Monday afternoons/evenings during Terms 1 and 2. In 2011, more than 120 Flinders girls participated in this competition once again. Trials are held during the first three weeks of Term 1. The competition begins in Week 4 on Monday, February 14 and concludes with the Grand Finals to be held in Week 8 of Term 2 on Monday, June 6. For the past four years, Flinders has taken the title of Champion School. (read story)

Additionally, teams participate in inter-school competitions such as the Fraser Coast visits, the state-wide Vicki Wilson Cup and the QISSN Carnival.

Training

Training sessions take place in the Flinders Sports Centre or on the Secondary outside courts on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon from 3.30-5pm or before school from 7-8am.

Coaches

Flinders have a number of staff appointed to Netball coaching and supplement this with the appointment of highly regarded coaches from the local Netball community. 

Teacher in Charge

Mrs Donna Skilton is a Secondary English teacher at the College and was appointed as the TIC of Netball in 2011. Donna is an accredited Level 1 Netball coach who is dedicated to ensuring that the Netball continues to be a high profile and successful sport at the College.
