2011 UK Sports Tour
The sporting program at the College would be among the most comprehensive in Queensland and gives students the opportunity to express themselves in many different fields of endeavour. The Secondary School conducts numerous Inter-House competitions throughout the year in activities such as touch football, tug of war, indoor soccer, netball, surfing and basketball as well as our three major carnivals in swimming (Term 1), cross country (Term 2) and athletics (Term 3).
The College also competes actively and is highly successful in the Sunshine Coast Independent Schools Sports Association (SCISSA) Carnivals and a wide variety of mid-week and weekend sporting competitions conducted by school and club associations.
Representative opportunities are available for our many outstanding athletes through Independent Zone (13-18yrs) or Independent District (SCISSA) (9-12 yrs) selections progressing to Sunshine Coast Regional Schools, Queensland Schools and Australian Schools team selections. Details of trial dates and State/National Championship details are available via the Representative School Sport link.
Sport is not compulsory, but every student is strongly encouraged to represent the College and the program provides a wide range of choices for participation. Each sport has an experienced Teacher in Charge (TiC) who, along with the Head of Sport, has carrage of that particular sport. The following sports are currently part of our competitive program: athletics, Australian football, basketball, cricket, cross country, equestrian, hockey, netball, rugby, sailing, soccer, surfing, swimming, tennis, touch football, volleyball and water polo. Detail of the TiCs as well as more information regarding their designated sport, including season schedules, training times, past successes and uniform requirements can be accessed via the links below.
