Matthew Flinders Anglican College has two extremely well-resourced libraries, supporting teaching and learning across the whole campus. The libraries service the resource needs of the whole school community through their extensive print collection, online access to AV resources through DVC and 24-hour access to a number of quality online databases. Students also have access to an Online Reference Generator to assist them in producing bibliographies for their assignments.

The libraries are staffed by experienced Teacher Librarians, library technicians, library assistants and a number of parent volunteers. The Teacher Librarians work with teachers and classes to support the curriculum through the delivery of collaborative planning and teaching, fiction promotion, research and instruction in bibliography writing.

Students are encouraged to develop a love of reading through the provision of lessons with Years prep to 10, access to a rich fiction collection, entry into Readers’ Cup competition in Years 6, 7, 8 and 9 and the Primary Library runs a book fair in Term 4. Students in the Secondary campus are encouraged to join the Online Book club, which is designed to facilitate discussion around reading among the students and interested staff.

Both libraries offer a number of facilities to encourage students to use the library outside class time, these include access to the school wi-fi for student use with laptop or ipad, data projection, Apple TV and printing facilities.
