Vibrant learning community

Located in Buderim, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, Flinders provides an education for excellence in learning and life, and is regarded as one of the leading co-educational independent schools in Australia. Founded in 1990, the College celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2020.  Flinders attracts local, national and international enrolments, resulting in a vibrant and inclusive learning community.

At Flinders, we are committed to developing an accomplished, well-resourced and inspirational staff, committed to the students in their care and imbued with a strong ethos of service, professional learning and ethical responsibility.

What’s more, our College recognises that that our staff team play an important role in providing quality education to our students and in nurturing a caring school culture.

Flinders staff are supported in their wellbeing and professional development with access to both internal and external professional development opportunities, including mentoring, coaching and tailored support as required. 

Master Plan for innovative learning spaces

Flinders’ facilities are exemplary, including our state-of-the-art 600-seat Performance Centre, our recently created Digital Zone, an impressive range of sporting facilities, the Flinders Farm and the Flinders Aquatic Academy. 

In 2019, the College ‘turned earth’ on a long-term Master Plan. The project will deliver innovative and industry-leading learning spaces and facilities to enhance the teaching and learning at Flinders.

The Masterplan projects also enhance our students’ success and our teachers’ professional growth and development.

The new Year 7 Precinct launched in 2020, and the new Years 5 and 6 Precinct will open January 2021. An innovative new learning resource centre is also due to open mid-2021 in the Primary School. 

Technology and connections

The College is driven by an Apple IT environment with strong infrastructure and technology support to enable high quality student learning and staff collaboration, as well as encourage parent and community engagement.

Christian ethos

Whilst independently incorporated, the College is affiliated with the Anglican Diocese Of Brisbane.  We welcome students, parents and staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures. The love of God, as well as tolerance, respect and compassion for others is modelled across all areas of our College.
