Choosing quality education on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Many parents relocating to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast from large city centres tell us they don’t want to compromise on quality education for their children, and that’s why they choose Matthew Flinders Anglican College. Furthermore, experienced educators and professionals are also looking for a reputable, innovative and warm school community to be a part of.

Based in Buderim on a charming 22-hectare rainforest-fringed campus, Flinders is a co-educational school from Prep to Year 12 that is regarded as one of the leading independent schools in Australia. Flinders has a reputation for balancing academic rigour with a strong co-curricular program and exciting opportunities for leadership and community engagement.

Our community is friendly, supportive and vibrant, characterised by students who strive to fulfil their potential and are nurtured and supported in all areas of learning. Our teaching team are committed to ongoing professional learning and collaboration, and are deeply committed to the students in their care.

The senior assessment results attained each year place our students, both individually and as a cohort, in the top echelon in Queensland, an achievement of which we are very proud. In most years, these outstanding results mean that over 95% of our Year 12 graduates seeking tertiary education gain entry into their chosen university courses.

The Sunshine Coast offers excellent educational opportunities and has a supportive business community. The region’s growth is fuelled by significant investment in major infrastructure and community projects.

With world-acclaimed family-friendly beaches and an enchanting hinterland, the Sunshine Coast has long been one of Australia’s top tourist destinations.”
