Matthew Flinders Anglican College proudly offers two extremely well-resourced libraries, which support teaching and learning across our campus.
Our Primary and Secondary libraries service our College’s resource needs through an extensive print collection of both fiction and non-fiction books, access to e-books via our Wheelers subscription, audio-visual resources via Clickview and 24-hour access to a wide range of databases through the Library webpage.
Flinders libraries are staffed by experienced teacher librarians, library technicians, library assistants and a number of parent volunteers. Our teacher librarians work with teachers and classes to support the curriculum through the delivery of collaborative planning and teaching, fiction promotion, research and instruction in bibliography writing.
Students are encouraged to develop a love of reading through library lessons, from Prep to Year 10, with access to a rich fiction collection. Our Primary Library also runs a book fair in Term 4 to help nurture students’ passion for reading. Students in our Secondary School are encouraged to join the Online Book Club, which is designed to facilitate discussion around reading among students and interested staff.
Both libraries offer a number of facilities to encourage our students to use the library outside of class time, including access to our College’s Wi-Fi for student use with a laptop or iPad, data projection, Apple TV and printing facilities.
