Parents considering a quality Senior Primary education for their children from Years 4 to 6 at Matthew Flinders Anglican College are invited to join the virtual Senior Primary Information Evening on Wednesday, 29 July.
The streamed event follows on from the success of our recent online Junior Primary Information Evening.
The event will include presentations by Flinders’ Head of Primary, Mrs Trudi Edwards; Head of Senior Primary, Mrs Ingrid Clarke; and Head of Learning and Teaching, Mrs Debbie Planck. There will also be guest speakers, including students who have joined Flinders in Senior Primary.
Parents will learn how Flinders supports children to confidently transition into Senior Primary and to embrace the array of quality academic, co-curricular, leadership and wellbeing opportunities on offer across the College from Prep to Year 12.
The presentation will explore the rich scholastic life at Flinders. Senior Primary students are equipped with strong curriculum knowledge and skills, particularly in literacy and numeracy, and explore programs to develop entrepreneurial skills and dispositions in order to excel in learning and life. Flinders’ data-informed academic program also supports Senior Primary students to deepen their understanding and competency in order to apply this to more complex problems and contexts.
Parents will also learn how Senior Primary students at Flinders develop their citizenship, ethical learning and leadership skills through exciting leadership opportunities, community service projects, co-curricular interests, outdoor recreation experiences, and pastoral care and wellbeing support.
To close the event, there will be a Q&A session with our guest panel. Participants are invited to text in questions for our panel to 0437 049 712 by Monday, 27 July to ensure the Senior Primary team is able to prepare detailed responses.
