Located in Buderim, in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, Flinders provides an education for excellence in learning and life, and is regarded as one of the leading co-educational independent schools in Australia. Founded in 1990, the College celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020.  Flinders attracts local, national and international enrolments, resulting in a vibrant and inclusive learning community.

Masterplan for innovative learning spaces

The facilities at Flinders are exemplary, including our state-of-the-art 600-seat Performance Centre, our exciting Digital Zone, an impressive range of sporting facilities, including the Flinders Aquatic Academy, and the Flinders Farm.

In 2019, the College ‘turned earth’ on its long-term Flinders Masterplan. The project will deliver innovative and industry-leading learning spaces and facilities to enhance the teaching and learning at Flinders.

The Masterplan projects also enhance our students’ success and our teachers’ professional growth and development.

The new Year 7 Precinct launched in 2020, and the new Flagship Centre for our Years 5 and 6 students opened in January 2021. The innovative new Wonderarium learning resource centre is also due to open in Term 4, 2021 in the Primary School.

The College is driven by an Apple IT environment with strong infrastructure and technology support to enable high quality student learning and staff collaboration, as well as encourage parent and community engagement.

Christian ethos

Whilst independently incorporated, the College is affiliated with the Anglican Diocese Of Brisbane. We welcome students, parents and staff from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Tolerance, respect and compassion for others is modelled across all areas of our College.

Selection Process

Short-listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview with an interview panel. Candidates short-listed from the first interview may be invited to participate in a second interview and/or further recruitment activities. For teachers, this may include a demonstration lesson.

Employment Screening

Preferred candidates will be subject to the following employment screening activities:

(i) Reference Checks
(ii) Registration with Queensland College of Teachers or current Blue Card
(iii) Anglican Church’s National Professional Standards Register
(iv) Australian work rights


After all pre-employment checks have been completed, the successful candidate will receive a verbal offer from Matthew Flinders Anglican College. With their agreement, a formal offer of employment will be sent electronically.
