Matthew Flinders Anglican College is proud to open ticket bookings for “Girl In The Hood”, a fiercely funny and fast-paced play showing from Monday, 17 to Wednesday, 19 August in the Flinders Drama Theatre.
Presented by the Flinders Dramatic Arts, this year’s Middle School Play features 37 talented performers and technical crew across Years 7 to 9.

Mr Andy Fraser, the Director of Dramatic Arts, said the show was going to be a lot of fun – for the ensemble and for the audience!
“Our brilliant Middle School company is taking on the glorious, chaotic tradition of the Pantomime, which builds important skills of improvisation, comic timing and resilience,” he said.
“The premise? A spectacularly fractured fairytale that takes a legendary story and completely runs amok with it.
“The script is a mash-up of the worlds of Little Red Riding Hood, Goldilocks, Sleeping Beauty, Jack and the Beanstalk, and—naturally—one very Big Bad Wolf into one hilarious, high-stakes adventure.
“Get ready for theatrical mayhem and an immersive experience that will have our audience engaged from start to finish!”
Mr Fraser said it was wonderful to have so many students keen to be involved.
“We have increased the ensemble numbers from last year’s Middle School Play to 32 performers on stage and 5 students working as technical crew under the guidance of our very experienced Technical Team, including Mr Adam Knight and Mr Brendon West.
“I’m sure many of those who auditioned were inspired to have a go after watching their peers do such an impressive job with our sold-out seasons of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in May and Mamma Mia! in March.”
