FLINDERS CLASS OF 2025 - GRADUATE REFLECTIONS
Flinders graduate Amy Morrison was awarded a Premier’s QCE Certificate of Academic Commendation for achieving As in each of her six subjects, which included English, Specialist Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering and Physics. Amy intends to study mechanical engineering with a masters of project management at QUT.
Amy said, “I found that balancing study, co-curriculars and down-time helped me achieve my best. There's only so much study anyone can do at a time, so I made sure I had breaks and enjoyed co-curriculars at school, including playing violin in the String Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra and participating in Dramatic Arts productions as well as the Innovation Club. This enabled me to study more efficiently and get more done than if I'd spent all my spare time studying.”
Also graduating with the Flinders Class of 2025, Billie Macnicol is planning to study at university through the Australian Defence Force and then move into a career in either aviation or intelligence. Billie achieved three perfect subject scores of 100/100 and achieved ‘A’ grades across all five of her senior subjects.
Billie commented of her post-school direction, “It’s an exciting pathway that combines study with real-world experience, leads into high-impact exciting roles — with no two days the same— and gives me the opportunity to travel around the world, which is something I really value.
“I’ll really miss some of my teachers at Flinders. They genuinely cared and pushed me to do better. I’ll also miss the spirit of the school and the sense of community. Flinders is the kind of environment where you feel supported but also challenged to step up.”
