From sprinting to national podiums to holding her own on the rugby field, Year 8 Flinders Sports Scholar Amber Livingston is a multi-sport powerhouse.
As part of our Flinders Elite Athlete Program (FEAP), Amber receives mentoring to balance her academics and high-level training across Athletics, Touch Football and Rugby. She is also learning how to develop a positive and resilient mindset both on and off the field.
Amber has already captained Queensland at the Little Athletics Championships and earned national medals, while also participating in many Flinders sports teams and independent school competitions.

0 compete well at the upcoming Sunshine Coast All Schools Touch Tournament
Q: What are your academic goals at Flinders?
I want to work hard in all of my subjects and aim for ‘Extending’ for my Endeavour Rating.
Q: What support are you enjoying through FEAP?
I really enjoy the FEAP workshops. I find my life is more balanced with the support from the FEAP Directors, Peta Rogerson and Lauren Nourse.
Q: Tell us about some of the new skills and strategies you are learning?
I have gained new skills with my organisation and I specifically liked the strategies Nathan Martin shared in his workshop on positive mindset. He guided us in how to be more competition ready. It was very individualised to each of us.
I also appreciate that FEAP gives me a connection and a community with the other elite athletes at Flinders. We are able to share what we are learning with each other.
Q: Who is your sporting role model and why?
Charlotte Caslick. I love that she followed her dream of being a Rugby 7s star and never gave up. She is a great role model and captain who leads by example. I would love to lead in that way when I am older.
