Student athletes on the Sunshine Coast and beyond are invited to apply for Sports Scholarships to Matthew Flinders Anglican College, due by Friday, 20 August.
Recognised as one of Queensland’s leading independent schools, Flinders on the Sunshine Coast is keen to support students with a passion and special talent for sport, along with a sound academic ability.
The College is now calling for scholarship applications by Friday, 20 August from students entering Years 7-12 in 2022.
Principal Stuart Meade said the Flinders Sport Scholarship provided developing and elite young athletes an opportunity to access a quality education.
The College also supports students with top sporting programs, including the Flinders Elite Athlete Program which provides tailored sports and academic mentoring to student athletes.
Students can also access a new elite sports training program on campus, offered as a new partnership between Flinders and the Sunshine Coast Sports Institute.
“At Flinders, we provide students from Prep to Year 12 with a contemporary education for excellence in learning and life,” Mr Meade said.
“Our incredible staff team at Flinders provide our Sport Scholars with guidance and opportunities to reach their potential and make their schooling years count,” he said.
“Flinders is a dynamic and caring environment for students striving for excellence, and we look forward to welcoming new students to our College community through our 2022 Sports Scholarship Program.”
The Flinders Sport Scholarship is open to students who demonstrate outstanding talent in their chosen sport along with sound academic ability.
Current sport scholars at Flinders compete in athletics, AFL, basketball, cricket, cross country, hockey, netball, rugby, soccer, swimming, touch football and water polo.
