Tickets Open for Dreams Take Flight, 31 August -2 September

Their voices have dazzled across diverse roles in our College musical productions over the years, and now these talented performers are stepping into the spotlight as soloists and ensemble singers!

Vocal excellence will be on full display as 11 senior students of Matthew Flinders Anglican College perform in the upcoming Senior School Cabaret, “Dreams Take Flight”, running over three nights from Monday, 31 August to Wednesday, 2 September.

Tickets are limited and selling fast, so get yours now here.

For this event, the Experimental Theatre will transform into Club Papillon, offering an immersive, intimate cabaret-style setting with table and chair seating. A complimentary charcuterie plate will be provided and you can purchase drinks from the bar while enjoying the performance.

Presented as part of the 2026 Flinders Dramatic Arts season, the showcase uses live piano accompaniment to highlight raw storytelling, vocal strength and authentic stagecraft.

The program centres on solo pieces handpicked by the performers. Tasked with selecting songs that personally resonate, the performers explore themes of hope, inspiration, imagination and resilience.

Rather than a traditional ‘stand and sing’ recital, the show challenges students to build physical stagecraft and take artistic ownership by introducing their songs and sharing personal motivations before stepping directly into their craft.

All music is accompanied live by Year 12 student Gary K on piano. Gary is an accomplished musician, Flinders Music Scholar and winner of the Senior Piano Championship at the 2025 Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod. He performs across four school ensembles: the Saxophone Ensemble, Wind Symphony, Stage Band and Symphony Orchestra.

The performers have been mentored by Miss Sarah Sullivan, Flinders Co-ordinator of Dramatic Arts. Miss Sullivan is an experienced opera singer and musical director who holds a Masters of Music Studies in Opera Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University.
