Interview Series: Meet some of our Old Flinderian alumni and hear their stories and reflections since graduation in these short videos
Sam Hamilton, Class of 2014
In this video interview (see below), meet Old Flinderian Sam Hamilton, who graduated from the College with the Class of 2014. Sam chats with our Old Flinderian Liaison, Rachel Sotiropoulos.
Sam travels the world, working in ski fields as a snowboard coach and instructor. You can read her story here.
While global travel is on pause due to COVID-19, Sam is home on the Sunshine Coast and staying with her family (her dad is Flinders Primary Counsellor, Dr Alec Hamilton). In this interview, Sam introduces her family’s new puppy, Cooper, who she and Dr Alec are training as a therapy dog to support our students and staff at Flinders. The aim is to have Cooper on campus to provide various roles, such as supporting the students, being there to read with the students, being a calm influence during stressful times like exams, and helping with social skills development.
Sam explains that our Prep and Year 1 students are wonderful fast learners in how to interact with a therapy dog, which is all about being a gentle and calming presence.
