The Flinders Foundation Scholarship is now open for senior students senior who are keen to join Matthew Flinders Anglican College on the Sunshine Coast.

The Flinders Foundation Scholarship is open to students commencing Year 10 or Year 11 in 2022.

Flinders scholarships are also open for Music, Academics, General Excellence and the Principal’s Scholarship, with all applications due by Friday, 26 February.

Flinders has a proud reputation of academic excellence and is regarded as one of Queensland’s top schools.

The Flinders Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a student who is an outstanding all-round contributor and will positively enhance the College community.

Flinders Foundation Chair Mr John Gannon said the scholarship gave students who would otherwise not be able to afford a Flinders education, the opportunity to attend the College.

The Flinders Foundation scholarship will assist by covering 50% of the recipient’s Senior School tuition fees for up to a three-year period from 2022.

“The Flinders Foundation has a mission to connect, engage and support the Flinders school community for the benefit of current and future students,” said John.

“This scholarship enables a student to make their final years of schooling count at Flinders as they strive to reach their full academic potential with the support of our expert teachers and caring community,” he said.

“A Flinders education also provides rich co-curricular opportunities and a focus on values and character development so that students feel equipped to make a positive contribution in the wider world.

“It has been rewarding to see the 2020 Flinders Foundation scholar Jazmyn develop her passions at Flinders in music, Maths and Science, amongst other interests.

“Just one of Jazmyn’s highlights in 2020 was winning the Intermediate Brass & Woodwind Championship at the annual Junior Music Eisteddfod.

“We look forward to enabling many more future scholars to embrace the wonderful opportunities on offer at Flinders.”
