New Families Invited to Come and Play at Flinders’ Under 8s Day

For the first time, Matthew Flinders Anglican College in Buderim is inviting new families to ‘Come and Play at Under 8s Day’ on Thursday, 29 April 2021.

Flinders is inviting parents considering an education at Flinders to bring their young children along from 9am to 11:45am for activities, a morning tea and personalised campus tour.

The annual Under 8s Day treats students under the ages of 8 years to a morning of pure playfulness, spontaneity, exploration, imagination and fun! There will be obstacle courses in the new Finders Junior Primary Nature Playground, as well as art and crafts, dance and dress ups, music making and much more.

The campus tour is designed for children from toddlers to 4 years of age and their parents.

Head of Primary, Mrs Trudi Edwards said Under 8s Day was an opportunity for families to see Flinders in action.

"We have so much to offer children at Flinders and we want new families who are considering our College for their children to join in the fun," Mrs Edwards said.

"The Under 8s Day event is a wonderful showcase of all the things we value here at Flinders: community, creativity, collaboration, rich learning and fun!"

Head of Junior Primary, Ms Chris Curtain said the early years of education provided an important foundation for children's lifelong learning and development. "We want to give our students at Flinders a strong start to help them develop as confident, capable and engaged learners," Ms Curtain said.

"This event is an opportunity for parents and children to walk around our campus and experience first-hand our positive, inclusive, creative and caring philosophy and community."
