Principal's Primary School Tour Invites New Families to Flinders

The Principal’s Primary School Tour (Prep to Year 6) at Matthew Flinders Anglican College on Tuesday, 31 July provides interested families with an opportunity to experience first-hand what distinguishes a Flinders education.

While Flinders offers personalised tours for prospective families throughout the year, this group tour is a unique opportunity to hear from Principal Stuart Meade and Head of Primary Trudi Edwards about how Flinders helps students strive for excellence in learning and life.

Principal Stuart Meade is naturally proud of the College’s reputation and potential.

“We are incredibly proud of the education we offer at Flinders,” Stuart says.

“The Principal’s Primary School Tour is a happy occasion for us as educators because we enjoy every opportunity to share our passion for our College.

Our teachers are dedicated and caring, and the climate for learning is a positive one. We have our students’ wellbeing at the heart of our work, and we commit to supporting each child to achieve their potential.

I hope families enjoy the tour and depart with a clear sense of the safety, happiness and mutual respect that we nurture here at Flinders.”

Flinders parent Julie Allen shares her experience of the Principal’s Primary School Tour. Julie and husband Sean were among the first group of parents to experience the tours.

“The tour helped us to understand how Flinders operates and what our children may expect and look forward to,” Julie says.

“The tour showed us how professional and committed the College’s teachers are and, moreover, how passionate they are in their teaching objectives.

It was great seeing the Principal’s passion for and recognition of the students during the tour as he greeted each child with a smile and a positive comment.”

Julie says her children also enjoyed the tour.

“They noticed the bright and creative classroom displays, they enjoyed talking with their future teachers, and even mentioned how smart they thought the school children looked in their uniforms,” she says.

“Taking the tour seemed to settle any concerns they might have had, helping to make the first day of school one to look forward to and enjoy.”

During the tour, families will visit Flinders’ well-resourced and innovative facilities, including the library, art rooms, computer lab, music rooms and sporting facilities.

The tour will conclude at the Performance Centre for morning tea, giving families a chance to ask further questions of the staff and chat with fellow families considering an education at Flinders.
