Certificate 2 in Engineering Pathways

The Certificate II in Engineering Pathways (MEM20413) provides students with an introduction to an engineering or related working environment. Students gain skills and knowledge in a range of engineering and manufacturing tasks including welding and sheet metal work, which will enhance their entry-level employment prospects for apprenticeships or traineeships. Students complete a range of engineering projects such as fabricating fire pits, outdoor furniture and go-carts. Training and assessment are via a blended mode of delivery which comprises both on-line training and face- to-face classroom-based training in the school workshop.

On completion of the Certificate II in Engineering Pathways, students may continue on a vocational pathway by enrolling in additional Vocational Education and Training courses or school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Completion of the Certificate 2 in Engineering Pathways contributes four (4) credits towards a student's Queensland Certificate of Education.
