Year 9 Geography students explore the concepts of ‘Biomes and Food Security’ and ‘Geographies of Interconnection’. They investigate the characteristics of the world’s biomes, how they are used and altered to produce food and fibre, and the environmental and social challenges of sustainable production. They then examine how people, places and environments are connected through trade, technology, and cultural exchange, and how these connections shape our world. Throughout the semester, students develop their skills in questioning, researching, analysing data, and communicating findings to propose informed responses to real-world geographical challenges.
