Year 10 Science

Year 10 Science is a broad-based course consisting of two semesters of study; one of Biological and Environmental Science and one, a foundational study of Physical and Chemical Sciences. Biology examines the phenomenon of life in all its manifestations encompassing studies of the origin, development, and functioning of living systems and the biochemical and genetic mechanisms that underpin them. Environmental Science offers a practical study of science concepts, systems and models in marine contexts. Physics focusses on the origins of the universe, forces and laws of motion, while Chemistry explores trends in the periodic table and factors effecting chemical reactions.

Pathways

This subject provides a foundation for further study in all Senior Science subjects but it has a strong orientation towards Biology and Marine Studies at Year 11 and 12.
