Year 10 Psychology

Psychology is a school-developed subject which examines brain and cognitive development, and the impacts of addiction and stress. Students’ understandings will be developed through concepts that explain behaviours and correlational conditions, including:

  • The Brain and Cognition
  • The Brain’s Response

Psychology aims to develop students’ interest in psychology and their appreciation for how this knowledge can be used to understand contemporary issues. Students conduct a variety of field research and laboratory investigations involving collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, and interpretation of evidence. Students also have an opportunity to evaluate psychological concepts, interpretations, claims and conclusions with reference to evidence. 

Pathways

This subject provides a foundation for further studies of Psychology in Year 11 and Year 12.
