Students engage in integrated learning providing the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts to real-life contexts through physical activity. Year 10 Advanced Physical Education extends upon the Australian Curriculum giving students an insight into Senior Physical Education with content and assessment aligned with the senior course. The subject also provides a good opportunity for those students interested in physical activity to gain a better understanding of anatomy and biomechanics with a view to enhancing performance in their chosen sport or activity.
This subject provides a foundation for further studies of Physical Education in Years 11 and 12. The skills developed may also have application to other (Humanities/Science/Arts/Technology) subjects. For pathways beyond school, please refer to the senior course descriptions.
